Which Handgun Poll Results.
The Which Handgun poll has been running on the PH site for some time now so we though we would have a look at the results. As most people who look at the PH site are IPSC orientated, these are what the results show.
In the top position with 29.1 % was Glock. The Glock brand is very popular at Level 1 and 2 IPSC events around Europe. As the USPSA has different rules than IPSC for Production Division, the Glock brand dominates this division in the USA. USPSA rules enable you to fit all types of aftermarket parts, which enables competitors to have a light and smooth trigger pull on their Glock. Also in the USA the Glock Company heavily promotes their pistols for use in competitive shooting competitions. But in Europe the Glock Company is not visible to the competitive shooting community. Do you think that Glock should get themselves more involved in competition shooting in Europe? I am sure that Glock also got a lot of votes as those of you who are involved in law enforcement know how popular the Glock is as a duty or carry pistol.
In second place was STI International with 28.1 %. You can see this every time you go to a match as STI dominates Open and Standard Divisions. The various STI pistols are the top choice for those competitors who have a serious involvement in IPSC. David and Pauletta at STI are also both very supportive of their customers and are involved in promoting IPSC competition around the world. If IPSC adopts the Classic Division at their World Assembly later this year the various STI single stack pistols will feature a lot in this new Division.
In third place was CZ on 18.3 %. In a few short years CZ have gone from having no presence in IPSC events to being used by some of the best competitive IPSC shooters around the world. Their IPSC Standard, now the Tactical Sport is a very good pistol. In Open Division the new Checkmate in 9mm Major is proving very popular. In Production the CZ Shadow totally dominates this Division in IPSC events. CZ also puts a lot back into IPSC and assists with the running of many matches world wide. CZ’s involvement in producing pistols that are suitable for IPSC events and in promoting IPSC competition is due to a lot of hard work by two good friends, Milan Trkulja, manager of the CZ IPSC Shooting Team and Angus Hobdell, who runs the CZ Custom Shop in the USA.
In fourth place with 13.4 % was SVI. This company have produced a long list of innovative products for IPSC events and continue to do so. The quality of the SVI pistols is superb and are used by those who are serious about IPSC competition. I seen many SVI’s being used by Europe’s best IPSC competitors at the Med Cup a few weeks ago. The reason we do not see more SVI’s is because they cannot make enough pistols and components to satisfy the demand for their products.
One pistol that I have noticed more and more in the past year is the Sphinx Production 3000. When IPSC started Production Division is was considered to be the “cheap man’s division” or the “entry division” into IPSC competition. This is not true any more! In many matches Production is the most popular Division. At the top level Production Division is as competitive as Open and Standard Divisions. The combination of the 15 round magazine rule in Production, the very limited changes that you can make to your pistol and the desire to have and use the best equipment available has lead to an increase in the number of Sphinx pistols being used in this Division.
Practical Handgun would like to thank all of you who took the time to take part in our Which Handgun poll.
Saludos,

Re: WHICH HANDGUN POLL RESULTS/NCUESTA DE PISTOLAS

Re: WHICH HANDGUN POLL RESULTS/NCUESTA DE PISTOLAS

Re: WHICH HANDGUN POLL RESULTS/NCUESTA DE PISTOLAS

Re: WHICH HANDGUN POLL RESULTS/NCUESTA DE PISTOLAS

Re: WHICH HANDGUN POLL RESULTS/NCUESTA DE PISTOLAS
